Boot Android in to custom recovery (CWM / TWRP)

Installing custom recovery for replace default recovery in android become something that must do for “advance user”. Custom recovery will give you more option than default recovery. But for a new android “advance” user, often forgot or do not know how to boot into custom recovery.

There is 3 method that you can choose to boot into custom recovery

Boot into custom recovery using buttons combination

  1. You need to power off your device
  2. Hold Power and Volume[-] buttons until you see recovery option menu

note: This method can be different for some device

Boot into custom recovery using Application

  1. Your android device must root
  2. Go to Google Play Store
  3. Download “QUick Boot” or other similiar application
  4. Run application for reboot in custom recovery

note: this is may the easiest way to reboot

Boot into custom recovery using ADB command

  1. Install Adb in your PC / Laptop
  2. Connect your device using USB cable
  3. Run ADB and type command

    adb reboot recovery

note: USB debugging option must active (checked)
