Install Ainol Novo 7 Aurora and Elf ClockWorkMod and Custom ROM
Preparation
- Download and Install Novo7 tool
- Download a10_recovery.zip (ICS)
- Download a10gb_recovery.zip (Gingerbread)
- Download and extract Terminal Emulator then install in Ainol Novo7
- Download Custom Rom for Aurora
Method I: Install ClockWorkMod for ICS only
- Connect Ainol Novo 7 to PC/Laptop
- Copy a10_recovery.zip and put it in SDcard
- Run Novo7 tools
- Select Flash recovery you can find it at ‘ROM manage’
- Choose Recovery, the device will reboot and boot in recovery
- Done, ClockWorkMod is installed in your tablet
Method II: Install ClockWorkMod for ICS and gingerbread
- Depend on android version that you used,
- Gingerbread user: extract a10gb_recovery.zip
- ICS user : extract a10_recovery.zip
Inside extract folder you`ll find install-recovery.sh, reboot-recovery.sh, dan recovery.img(ICS)/recovery.cpio(GB)
- Select all file and copy yo internal SDcard (not external microSD)
- Run Terminal emulator
- Type
su
cd /sdcard
sh install-recovery.sh - Done, ClockWorkMod is installed in your tablet
Note: for ICS user, if method I is unsuccessful try second method
Boot to ClockWorkMod Recovery
- From terminal emulator
sh reboot-recovery.sh
- Manually
- Turn off the device
- Press and hold back + power buttons until it`s boot in recovery
Install Custom ROM via ClockWorkMod
- Copy Custom ROM to MicroSD
- Boot to recovery
- At recovery menu select Install Zip from SDcard
- then choose Zip from SDcard
- Find and select the custom ROM that you want to install
- Wait until the process is done
- Select Reboot device
- Done
